Akari continues to build up its roster for its second conference in the PVL.
The Power Chargers have signed opposite hitter Eli Soyud and libero Bang Pineda.
For Akari Sports Director Russell Balbacal, signing the two former Adamson Lady Falcons is in line with the vision they had when they backed the school almost a decade ago.
“As a long-time supporter of the Adamson volleyball program, we are happy to sign both Bang and Eli to the Chargers,” said Balbacal. “It just goes to show the alagang Akari — We take care of our Lady Falcons, and if the opportunity arises, we will definitely have more of them in the lineup in the future.”
Akari also has Trisha Genesis on its team.
Soyud was part of Adamson in UAAP Season 81 while Pineda is a beach volleyball great for the school.
Soyud, 26, was part of PLDT during the past two seasons. She also played for Motolite in 2019 and Generika-Ayala in 2020.
Meanwhile, Pineda, 31, is joining her 10th club.
The 5-foot-6 defensive specialist played for Cagayan Valley (2014-15), KIA (2015), Petron (2016-17), Generika (2018), United VC (2019), Choco Mucho (2019), Sta. Lucia (2020-21), and Petro Gazz (2022).
Akari finished its maiden campaign in seventh place.
Soyud previously played for PLDT while Pineda was with Petro Gazz last season.
