The three-peat seeking NU Lady Bulldogs stayed undefeated at 3-0 in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament after pulling off a reverse sweep against the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 17-25, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-12, at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.
Down by four at 7-11, the league-leading Lady Bulldogs unleashed an 8-1 finishing kick capped by an Arah Panique block kill.
Panique poured a career-high 27 points and six excellent digs to lead NU while Lams Lamina came off the bench and dished out 19 excellent sets.
Gerzel Petallo pumped 12 points, 12 digs, and 22 receptions to pace the Lady Tamaraws, who dropped to 1-2.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University men's team staved off defending champion National University, 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-20, on Saturday in a rematch of last year’s UAAP men’s volleyball Finals at Mall of Asia Arena.
