Five-time Premier Volleyball League (PVL) champions Creamline Cool Smashers and reigning UAAP titleholder National University shared the hardcourt for a joint practice session at the NU-Manila campus on Tuesday morning.
In a video shared by NU strength and conditioning coach Kim Bejo, both squads were seen warming up at the Lady Bulldogs' gym — the same venue of their tuneup match three months ago ahead of NU's Shakey's Super League (SSL) debut and Creamline's year-ending PVL stint.
However, the two powerhouses took different paths to close out their 2022 campaigns.
With its title-winning core mainly intact, the UAAP Season 84 women's volleyball champs swept the inaugural SSL pre-season championship to extend their ongoing win streak to 24 games.
Meanwhile, the Cool Smashers failed to complete its PVL Grand Slam bid and settled for the bronze in the 2022 Reinforced Conference.
Both teams are slated to return to action in February as the PVL All-Filipino Conference kicks off on Feb. 4 while the UAAP Season 85 volleyball tournaments follows suit on Feb. 25.
