Ced Domingo coming back to play for Akari in PVL?

The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) arms race just got more interesting.

Former Creamline juggernaut Celine 'Ced' Domingo is signing up with the Akari Chargers, multiple sources told SPIN.ph.

The 24-year old FEU standout left the Cool Smashers last October to play as an import for Nakhon Ratchasima VC of the Thailand League. But now she's headed back to the league where she emerged from the giant shadow of superstar Alyssa Valdez to establish herself as a force to be reckoned with.

News of Domingo's signing comes just a day after Akari announced that it has signed Grethcel Soltones, formerly of Petro Gazz.

In the four conferences they have competed since joining the PVL in 2022, the Chargers haven't sniffed a podium finish. Their best showing was a seventh-place effort in the recently-concluded Second All-Filipino Conference.

The two major signings should change that. Soltones and Domingo, a star in her prime, makes the lighting and technology giant instant title contenders.

Among Domingo's impressive collection of hardware include the following:' Best Blocker UAAP Season 80 (2018). First Best Middle Blocker in the 2018 PVL Collegiate Conference. Finals MVP in the 2022 PVL Invitational Conference and Second Best Middle Blocker in the 2023 Invitational Conference.

With the addition of more pieces, Akari figures to be, pardon the pun, lights out in the upcoming conference.
