The Choco Mucho Flying Titans proved to have stronger wings after surviving a cardiac five-setter match against the pesky Petro Gazz Angels, 24-26, 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the Phil Sports Arena in Pasig on Tuesday, February 27.
Choco Mucho relied on Mars Alba's playmaking skills as she converted 25 excellent sets.
Player of the game Sisi Rondina exploded for 24 points and also tallied 22 excellent receptions.
Alba made sure that Choco Mucho's offensive guns were well utilized as Kat Tolentino scored 17 points, Isa Molde had 12, while Maddie Madayag and Cherry Nunag both had 11 points each.
With Choco Mucho holding the advantage in the deciding set, 14-9. Petro Gazz pulled a 4-0 run to close the gap, 14-13.
But Marian Buitre's costly service error handed Choco Mucho's victory, 15-13.
Petro Gazz committed a total of 36 errors in the match, while Choco Mucho had 25.
Jonah Sabete's 29-point outing and Brooke Van Sickle's 18-point showing were not enough to outlast the Flying Titans.
This is the five-setter match in this year's conference.
