The PNVF Champions League title bout is all set after the Cignal HD Spikers and D'Navigators Iloilo dispatched their foes on Thursday.
Riding the crest of an unbeaten run, the Cignal HD Spikers walloped the VNS Asereht Griffins in straight sets, 25-14, 25-15, 25-22, in the semifinals at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
Cignal came out firing on all cylinders as it overwhelmed VNS Asereht in the opening set before sustaining momentum in the second.
The Griffins regained their footing in the third frame, when both teams engaged in a nip-and-tuck affair.
Holding a slim 23-21 edge, Vince Abrot hammered down a searing blow as the HD Spikers never looked back.
With the crucial victory, Cignal extends its undefeated surge to four games, moving on the cusp of a tournament sweep.
D'Navigators Iloilo had a similar fate, subduing the De La Salle-College of St. Benilde in straight sets, 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.
Iloilo had to overcome a tough challenge from the CSB in the opening period, before mounting sizable cushions in the succeeding frames to punch a ticket to the Finals.
The D'Navigators, who completed a sweep in Pool B during the preliminaries, stretched their unbeaten run to four games as they collide with the HD Spikers for the coveted crown.
Meanwhile, the Savouge Spin Doctors arrange a fifth-place classification clash with the Philippine Army Troopers after spirited outings earlier in the day.
Licking the wounds of their straight-set loss to the HD Spikers a day ago, the Spin Doctors dumped their frustrations on the Airmen with a drubbing of their own, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18.
The Finals and the bronze medal match will take place on Saturday, February 17, while the tournament wraps up the classification phase on Friday, February 16.
Games will be aired on One Sports, One Sports+, and the Pilipinas Live app.
