University of Santo Tomas remains the only unbeaten team in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament, after the Golden Tigresses scored a sensational five-set victory over defending champion De La Salle University.
The Golden Tigresses squandered a two-set advantage but found a second wind in the fifth and final set en route to a 25-18, 25-23, 14-25, 16-25, 15-12 victory in front of over 12,000 fans at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday night.
UST improved to 3-0 in the season, while La Salle fell to 2-1. It was the first loss for the Lady Spikers since they fell in four sets to the Tigresses in the second round of UAAP Season 85.
