Lorene Toring will not be suiting up for Adamson University in the upcoming UAAP women's volleyball tournament after tearing her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
The middle blocker announced the development Wednesday in an emotional Instagram post.
"While it pains me to say goodbye to the team that has been such a significant part of my life, I am also filled with gratitude for the journey that has led me to this moment," the Lady Falcon said as she bid farewell to the Adamson community.
"As much as I had hoped and dreamed of playing my last UAAP Season alongside with my teammates, I have come to accept that sometimes, God has different plans for us," she added. "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the news that an ACL injury has sidelined me for the foreseeable future."
It was not all bad news for Adamson as they stunned the Akari Chargers in the Akari Invitational Cup despite missing her services.
Toring vowed to support her teammates after the season-ending injury.
"To my teammates, you have been more than just friends; you’ve been my second family. While I may not be able to physically join you on the court this season, please know that I will be cheering you on from the sidelines."
She was significant in Adamson's third-place finish in UAAP Season 85, their best since Season 76.
"As I bid goodbye, I carry with me a lifetime of memories and lessons that I will cherish forever. I am proud to say that I AM A VINCENTIAN STUDENT-ATHLETE! Farewell to the place that helped shape me, my beloved Adamson University," she concluded her post.
