Choco Mucho made it three wins on the spin after rolling past Chery Tiggo in straight sets, 25-9, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.
Kat Tolentino kept the Flying Titans unscathed with 17 points on 13 attacks and four blocks to take solo lead in the team standings as Sisi Rondina topscored yet again with 23 markers.
"Masaya kasi nagbubunga ‘yung pagod namin. Sana magtuloy-tuloy. Masaya rin ako kanina sa mga pangyayari kasi kami sa loob, nag-uusap talaga and then lagi naming sinasabi na maging composed lang tayo kasi umingay na eh. Kumbaga pam-pito na ‘yung ingay na kalaban namin.
Rondina added: "Bumalik lang kami sa sistema and tumibay talaga kami sa depensa kanina kasi unstoppable din kanina si Eya (Laure), lahat ng mga attackers ng Chery (Tiggo). Kaya as long as gagapangin, gagapangin talaga namin."
From the highest of highs early on with a 16-point opening set romp to a neck-to-neck second frame win, an imminent-looking sweep was averted by a late 9-1 Chery Tiggo run led by Laure (13 points), Ara Galang (14 points), and Mylene Paat (10 points).
Come the Flying Titans' fourth-set clincher, Rondina & Co.'s 54 total attacks proved too much on top of 53 excellent digs, 29 excellent receptions, and 20 excellent sets from the newest Flying Titan playmaker in Mars Alba.
