SAN Miguel and NLEX go up against each other in a pivotal match-up on Sunday in the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup.
In the other match, Magnolia is also eyeing to get back on track against Meralco in what could be another tightly-contested match-up between both teams.
San Miguel’s bid to stay perfect in the Philippine Cup continues with its match-up against NLEX. The Beermen went 8-0 on Friday with the win over Magnolia. It can now seal a twice-to-beat incentive with a win over NLEX. From there, the sweep is within reach especially with the relatively light schedule ahead when they face Blackwater and Meralco to close the conference.
NLEX dropped to 5-3 after it lost to Phoenix, 112-77, last April 20, and now faces a must-win over San Miguel to strengthen its bid for a twice-to-beat advantage.
In their previous outing against each other, the Road Warriors defeated the Beermen in overtime, 117-113, in the first game of the Commissioner’s Cup last conference. While that contest may different from Sunday’s ballgame, NLEX is one of only three teams (NorthPort and Magnolia as the others) that has defeated San Miguel this season.
