Marck Espejo and Jau Umandal will spearhead the Alas Pilipinas for the 2024 Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Challenge Cup for Men, set for June 2-9 in Isa Town, Bahrain.
The Philippine National Volleyball Federation unveiled the 14-man roster on Monday, May 27.
Espejo and Umandal, serving as co-captains of the national team, will be joined by the core of Cignal HD Spikers in JP Bugaoan, Lloyd Josafat, Vince Lorenzo, and recently-acquired Owa Retamar.
Also called up for national duties are Criss Cross middle blocker Kim Malabunga, La Salle hitter Noel Kampton, and NU standouts Nico Almendras, Jade Disquitado, Rwenzmel Taguibolos, Leo Ordiales, and Joseph Bello.
Completing the roster is UST ace and UAAP Season 86 MVP Josh Ybañez, who is set to transition into the role of libero.
The AVC Challenge Cup for Men will see the Philippines compete against China, as well as 2023 runner-up and 2024 host Bahrain in Pool A.
