De La Salle is back in action after a week and the Green Archers now take on the UE Red Warriors in UAAP Season 87.
It’s still quite early in the season but UAAP teams are starting to get a feel for their opponents and the overarching storylines that might define their respective campaigns in Season 87.
The showdown between the DLSU Green Archers and UE Red Warriors Sunday could be a proof of that.
Defending champion De La Salle is currently tied for first place with a perfect 3-0 record and has showcased championship form early in the season.
After a narrow escape in their opener against NU, the Green Archers have dominated their next two games, beating Adamson by 30 points and securing a solid 13-point victory over rival Ateneo.
As they aim to extend their winning streak, DLSU will be keen to continue asserting their dominance especially as the champs appear headed to another collision course with Season 86 Finals rival UP, the other team with a still-perfect record.
Meanwhile, UE is currently sitting in 5th place with a 1-2 record after coming off a hard-fought win against FEU.
The Red Warriors leaned on a clutch performance from Ethan Galang to secure their first win of the season.
And while facing a powerhouse like DLSU is a tough challenge, UE will be motivated to carry the momentum from its breakthrough success especially as there’s a golden opportunity to now to make a play for the Final Four, with four other teams currently having two wins or less.
Tip off for this DLSU-UE game will be at 6:30 p.m. from the MOA Arena, capping another week of UAAP men’s basketball action.
