The UST Growling Tigers and DLSU Green Archers will face off in a highly-anticipated UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball game on September 29 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Both teams are jostling for position near the top of the standings, with defending champion La Salle sitting at no. 2, and UST close behind at no. 3.
The Green Archers suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of UE last week, but they bounced back with a hard-fought win over FEU, improving to 4-1.
The champs will be looking to regain their dominant form as they try to stay near the top of the standings and re-assert themselves as the title favorite.
UST also rebounded from its first loss of the season by defeating NU in its last game, improving to a record of 3-1.
This game against La Salle is the second of three consecutive matchups against Final Four teams from Season 86, making it a key test for the Growling Tigers as they aim to prove they can compete with the league’s elite.
