PVL All-Filipino February 3 games live update

Nxled fans expect nothing less than an explosive start from a team that dominated offseason chatter and fueled intrigue following a sweeping revamp.

This was no ordinary reshuffle. Nxled underwent a major overhaul, with the core of a four-time champion squad now spearheading a campaign for a franchise whose entry into the Premier Volleyball League in late 2023 was built largely on promise. For much of that time, that promise remained unfulfilled.

But beginning this All-Filipino Conference, the narrative is expected to change – dramatically.

Farm Fresh gets the honor – or perhaps the unenviable task – of testing the Chameleons’ true mettle on Day 2 of the season-ending conference organized by Sports Vision.

Game time is set at 4 p.m. at the FilOil Playtime Centre in San Juan, with ZUS Coffee and Capital1 clashing in the other marquee matchup at 6:30 p.m.

All four teams will be gunning to join opening-day winners Cignal and Choco Mucho atop the early standings.

Chemistry, often the biggest hurdle for newly retooled squads, figures to be the least of Nxled coach Ettore Guidetti’s concerns. Brooke Van Sickle, Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips already share a championship-tested bond from their time with the Petro Gazz Angels. That familiarity extends to former teammates Djanel Cheng, Jonah Sabete, Bang Pineda, Jellie Tempiatuira, Nicole Tiamzon and Ranya Musa.

Add seasoned veterans Aby Maraño and Aduke Ogunsanya to the mix, and Guidetti finds himself with an enviable collection of aces. For holdovers Lyann de Guzman, Chiara Permentilla, Krich Macaslang, Mayang Nuique, Lucille Almonte, EJ Laure and Jovelyn Fernandez, the challenge will be raising their level to crack a rotation loaded with proven winners.

With a roster this deep and battle-hardened, Guidetti’s task may be less about rebuilding and more about managing abundance – choosing the best options, then replacing them with even better ones.

“Well, it’s obviously a challenge and it’s something that I accept, embrace, and I am blessed to be the coach (of this team). So yes, it will be difficult. Yes, it will be hard. But honestly, I’m not scared. I’m excited,” said Guidetti.

Still, the Foxies are not a team to be dismissed lightly.

Under new head coach Koji Tsuzurabara, Farm Fresh brings its own compelling storyline. The Japanese mentor could prove to be a crucial equalizer, having previously handled several of Nxled’s new stalwarts during her stint with the Angels – a run that culminated in an All-Filipino championship in 2025.

That familiarity with the Chameleons’ key pieces could help neutralize Nxled’s apparent edge in manpower and experience.

Eager to prove their worth, the Foxies are determined to kickstart a title campaign in a conference widely tipped to live up to its preseason billing as one of the most unpredictable in recent memory, thanks to the depth and balance across the 10-team field.

Leading Farm Fresh’s charge are mainstays Trisha Tubu, Alohi Robins-Hardy, Jolina dela Cruz, Ces Molina, Riri Meneses, Rizza Cruz, Alyssa Bertolano and Louie Romero, bolstered by high-impact recruits Ara Galang, Mylene Paat, Royse Tubino, Remy Palma, Bia General and Imee Hernandez.

Meanwhile, the ZUS Coffee-Capital1 encounter also promises fireworks despite perceived advantages on paper.

The Thunderbelles are coming off a breakthrough finals appearance in the Reinforced Conference, and coach Jerry Yee hopes that experience will translate into sustained momentum.

He said he’s excited to compete in a league where every team has made improvements, creating a more balanced field and raising the level of competition across the board.

‘Yung mga loaded na teams, ‘yan ang masarap na makalaban. Nxled malakas, Choco Mucho malakas. Well, lahat naman ‘yan malakas eh. So bahala na,” said Yee.

Anchored by Riza Nogales, Thea Gagate, Chai Troncoso, Chinnie Arroyo, Kate Santiago, Fiola Ceballos and elite playmaker Cloanne Mondonedo, ZUS Coffee has further fortified its frontline and defense – and added invaluable big-game experience – through the acquisitions of Cess Robles, Rachel Anne Daquis, Chie Saet, Ren Peñafiel and Karen Verdeflor.

Yet Capital1 enters the season with renewed purpose and quiet confidence. The Solar Spikers believe they have assembled the right mix to challenge more established squads, leaning on new recruits Pauline Gaston, Jasmine Nabor and Shaya Adorador alongside Cherry Nunag, Ezra Madrigal, Ysa Jimenez, France Ronquillo and Rachel Jorvina.

Stability comes from a solid core of Bella Belen, Trisha Genesis, Leila Cruz, KC Galdones, Sydney Niegos, Jorelle Singh, Pia Abbu and Iris Tolenada – a group capable of keeping games within reach and capitalizing when opportunities arise.

While several teams may appear to hold clear edges in talent, depth and experience, the All-Filipino Conference once again shapes up as a battleground where cohesion, coaching adjustments and timely execution could matter just as much as star power.

In a league where margins are thin and familiarity runs deep, no matchup can be taken lightly – and that unpredictability may be the season’s defining theme.
