La Salle men's volleyball looks to shake off an opening-day setback as the Green Spikers face the UST Golden Spikers on Sunday, February 22, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
First serve is at 11 a.m., with live streaming available on the Pilipinas Live app. It will also be aired on the UAAP Varsity Channel.
The Green Spikers stumbled in the post-Noel Kampton and Vince Maglinao era, falling 19-25, 22-25, 19-25 to last season’s runners-up FEU Tamaraws.
Cameroonian middle blocker Issa Ousseini contributed nine points in his UAAP debut, while Eugene Gloria and MJ Fortuna added seven points apiece.
Joshua Magalaman chipped in six points on five attacks and one block, and Chris Hernandez provided seven excellent receptions and three digs despite scoring just five points.
Now, La Salle faces UST, another team coming off a season-opening loss to defending champion NU.
The Green Spikers will also aim to reverse last season’s fortunes, when the Golden Spikers swept them in the eliminations.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated women's volleyball match up of Lady Spikers and Golden Tigresses to highly the UAAP Sunday is going to be an explosion definitely. La Salle riding the win momentum while UST hungry for a win.
Also, both UP and Ateneo men's and women's teams will see action.
