Veterans Valdez, Molina, Gonzaga lead 20-woman Alas pool for AVC Women’s Cup

The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has tapped veteran players to lead the national team pool in the 2026 AVC Women’s Cup in Candon, Ilocos Sur from June 6-14.

Bannering the Alas Pilipinas Women pool are Alyssa Valdez, Ces Molina, and Jov Gonzaga, who attended the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum on Tuesday to give a preview of the team’s upcoming campaign in the continental tilt.

Also with them are interim head coach Shaq delos Santos and debuting Niña Ytang.

“Part of me talaga, laging buo ‘yung puso to serve dahil alam ko kung gaano kahirap and gaano kasaya mag-represent ng country,” said the returning Valdez.

Valdez, Molina, and Gonzaga are choices for the wing spiker position alongside Tots Carlos, Ara Galang, Trisha Tubu, Royse Tubino, and Vanessa Sarie.

Joining as options for the middle blocker position are Ytang, Jaz Ellarina, Thea Gagate, Cla Loresco, and Lhouriz Tuddao.

Setters Kyle Negrito, Clo Mondoñedo, Tin Ubaldo, and Natalie Estreller are also in the pool, as well as liberos Kyla Atienza, Alyssa Eroa, and Lara Mae Silva.

The team is in the process of finalizing the Alas roster, said delos Santos.

“Pool pa lang ang meron kami, ‘yun ang ia-arrange pa namin,” he said.
