ANTA PH signs Letran’s Gammad, UAAP players ahead of collegiate hoops season

Sportswear brand ANTA Philippines has signed collegiate basketball players as its newest athlete-ambassadors ahead of NCAA Season 102 and UAAP Season 89.

The newest batch of ANTA athletes include Letran Knights’ Chad Gammad, who was recently propelled to the spotlight after his relationship with PBA courtside reporter Apple David was publicized.

Joining Gammad are UST Growling Tigers’ Carl Manding and UE Lady Warriors’ Rachel Lacayanga.

The athletes shared Wednesday how special it was to be carrying ANTA’s brand, despite only being college players.

“It means a lot, representing ANTA. It's a great feeling,” said Gammad.
“It feels great because I've also been wearing Kyrie [Irving's] shoes ever since I was young,” said Manding, who draws inspiration from NBA star Kyrie Irving. “When he moved to ANTA, I was also able to wear his first shoes right when it came out. It's a great blessing.”
“Sobrang grateful po ako and thankful po na ako po 'yung pinagkatiwalaan nila na i-represent 'yung brand po,” said Lacayanga.

Although further details were not disclosed, the brand's marketing manager Mikko Abello said that their deals include a multi-year partnership.

“We want to go into it for the long goal—we want to support them even beyond their college careers,” said Abello.
