Dominant San Miguel Beer center June Mar Fajardo is a strong bet for the Best Player of the Conference award and even a stronger candidate for the season Most Valuable Player honors.Fajardo, who already won the BPC trophy in the Philippine Cup earlier in the season, collected an average of 37.9 statistical points per game after averaging 18.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and two blocks per contest for the Beermen.
Coming in second place is reigning Rookie of the Year Chris Newsome, with an average of 33.273 SPs. The high-flying swingman normed all-around numbers of 14.27 points, 6.64 rebounds, and 5.45 assists for Meralco, which finished as the No. 1 seed in the season-ending conference.
A close third is Ginebra giant Greg Slaughter, with 33.091 SPs. In his first conference back since a major knee injury, Slaughter normed 14.36 points, 9.73 rebounds, 1.73 assists, and 1.55 blocks per game for the defending champion Gin Kings.
Rounding out the top 10 are: San Miguel's Arwind Santos (32.273 SPs); TNT's Jayson Castro (32.2 SPs); San Miguel's Alex Cabagnot (30.273 SPs); GlobalPort's Stanley Pringle (29.44 SPs); Alaska's Calvin Abueva (29.0 SPs); Meralco's Baser Amer (28.9 SPs); and NLEX's Kevin Alas (28.73 SPs).
Meanwhile, Meralco import Allen Durham is on pace to repeat as the Best Import of the Governors' Cup.
The hard-working forward averaged 27.82 points, 19.36 rebounds, and 7.09 assists per game for the Bolts, for an average of 61.36 SPs.
TNT's Glenn Rice Jr. is chasing him with an average of 55.625 SPs built on 32.88 points and 11.25 rebounds per game.
However, Durham has already made it clear that another Best Import trophy is not his priority.
"The championship is in my mind," said Durham, who was Meralco's import when they lost in heartbreaking fashion to Ginebra in the finals of last season's Governors' Cup. "I'll let you guys talk about (the Best Import)."
Phoenix's Brandon Brown is third in the Best Import Race with an average of 54.5 SPs, after leading the league in scoring with 34.83 points per game.
Blackwater's Henry Walker is in fourth place, with 53.250 SPs, followed by GlobalPort's Murphey Holloway (53.222 SPs).
