Rumors are swirling around regarding the relationship of NU volleyball star Jennifer Nierva with professional esports player Tristan Cabrera, better known as Yawi.
On Monday, the 23-year-old libero shared on Twitter that she will now "let go."
On New Year's Eve, Nierva had also made herself heard via Instagram, wishing her followers a happy 2023, but also including a somewhat cryptic statement that says, "Self-love tayo dis 2023 ha? 🥰”
Nierva's relationship with Cabrera, who plays Mobile Legends: Bang Bang for pro team ECHO, has been public for the good part of 2022. Their posts featuring each other filled their social media pages. But recently, a cheating scandal allegedly involving Cabrera circulated on Facebook.
UAAP's Season 84 Best Libero has since deleted her posts with Yawi on her social media pages.
Nierva was one of the key players in NU’s historic UAAP title in Season 84. She and the rest of the Lady Bulldogs will look to repeat that success in Season 85.
Yawi, on the other hand, is a key cog of the ECHO team that finished first runner-up in Season 10 of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines. They are one of the two Philippine teams competing in the ongoing M4 World Championship.
