WATCH Chery Tiggo beats Cignal HD Spikers for fifth straight win full replay video

CHERY Tiggo left it all on the floor in a willful 17-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 16-14 win over Cignal in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday.

Eya Laure once again proved too much to handle for the HD Spikers as she delivered 26 points on 21 attacks, three blocks, and two aces in Chery Tiggo's fifth straight win.

Cignal’s own win streak came to an end at five.

"Ang ini-impart namin mula nu’ng mga panalo namin nu’ng previous games, ‘yung never say (die) attitude. Hanggang hindi umaabot ng 25 ‘yang score natin, kailangan nating habulin which is ‘yun nga ‘yung nangyayari sa previous matches," Chery Tiggo deputy coach Kungfu Reyes said.
"Ang dami pa kasi naming kakaining bigas dito sa pro league. Kumbaga ngayon, absorb lang kami ng absorb. Kung ano ‘yung maganda naming makukuha, babaunin namin sa mga susunod na laro. ‘Yung mga pangit, move on na lang," Laure added.

It was a tug-of-war between two league titans, to say the least, with Vanie Gandler (20 points) coming in hot from the get-go to lead all six of Cignal's starters in double figures.

And although the Crossovers lost the opening set for the third game running, they were able to pick up the pace with the help of Cess Robles' (18 points) hot hands and clutch attacks in the fifth set tiebreak off the bench.

Vital 11-point outputs from Cza Carandang and second stringer Mylene Paat were crucial in keeping Chery Tiggo afloat after trailing twice in the match.
