Floremel “Dij” Rodriguez is the latest member of the national women’s beach volleyball team to switch to indoor volleyball, as she joins the Creamline Cool Smashers in preparation for the Premier Volleyball League 1st All-Filipino Conference.
Rodriguez was seen donning shirt #4 alongside the Cool Smashers veterans in a team picture that gained online virality on Friday.
Hailing from Negros Oriental, Rodriguez was part of the Creamline-backed Philippine women’s beach volleyball team that clinched a bronze medal in the preceding Southeast Asian Games.
Rodriguez becomes the third national beach volleyball team member to transition to indoor volleyball after her Cool Smashers teammate Bernadeth Pons and Choco Mucho Flying Titans’ Cherry Rondina.
The Cool Smashers aim to extend their All-Filipino Conference dominance into the upcoming 2024 PVL season, set to commence on February 20.
